Yashoda Asdeo is a product and furniture designer working between the UK and India, with her studio and workshop based in India. Her practice is rooted in hands-on making and a curiosity for materials, often combining wood, metal, stone, and ceramics. She explores how process, material behaviour, and storytelling can be embedded into functional forms. Alongside making, she uses photography and graphic design as tools for documentation and visual exploration, extending experimentation beyond the object itself.

Strata
‘Strata’ is a stool crafted entirely from reclaimed teak and mahogany, its layered construction inspired by the strata of wood, earth, and culture. Fragments of stone, granite, and ceramic tiles are embedded into its surface, echoing craft traditions and unseen foundations, making it both a functional seat and a tactile reminder that identity is built from many visible and invisible parts, held together in quiet strength.
