Stelo glasses
With time no longer as abundant as it once was, my practice shifted from making everything myself to collaborating with artisans and manufacturers. This limitation led me towards glass, a material I had always wanted to explore but never had the opportunity to, as I lacked both the skills to work with it myself and the finances to collaborate with a glassblower.
Stelo glasses were inspired by my first martini and a curiosity about how the glass’ iconic form relates to the way we actually use it. Developed across evenings and weekends, predominantly from my bed and occasionally from the living room of a shared flat, the project evolved through conversations with Stewart Hearn, a glassblower in Cambridgeshire, who brought my drawings to life, and was refined over countless aperitivos with friends.
