David Chen is an emerging designer and DJ based in West London, currently pursuing a master’s in Design Engineering at Imperial College. His interdisciplinary approach explores the intersection of design and engineering, emphasizing functional innovation. Central to his practice is a sympathetic design ethos, rooted in his background in hardware and software engineering. His previous work spans industrial design, loudspeaker engineering, videography, and graphic communication, drawing from his immersion in various cultural spheres to inform distinctive and impactful projects.

Listening station wall unit with an integrated Technics, 1210 MK2 turntable and headphone amplifier, shelving module, and BPM (beats per minute) analyser.
The shelving and turntable containment was hand-bent from 0.9mm and 1.2mm stainless steel respectively. The turntable containment was built around the dimensions of a Technics 1210 MK2. The aluminium faceplate of the Technics 1210 MK2 was hand-brushed, removing all original decals.
