Sky Vase
Anodising is an electrochemical process reserved for industry. Plating shops take batches, not single objects, dipping a whole rack at one voltage. Titanium is unusual in that it colours on its own, where other metals need dyes. Current grows a film on the surface, and the higher the voltage, the further the colour travels, running within a range through the hues of a sunset. That gradient is only possible one piece at a time. So I built my own rig: a rail salvaged from a 3D printer lowers each vase into the bath as a school science power supply raises the voltage. I can set that shift to a chosen day, the sky of a memory, so no two are the same. The form follows readily available tubing stock.
