I would say the work usually centres around gleaning, whether that's material found on the street or an idea from something I've seen while being there. If it’s finding discarded materials or using elements from past projects, everything is usually recycled and reformed until it settles into a functional concept. Typically, the process starts with the material in hand. Twisting, folding and cutting and bric-a-brac things together. If it works, it’s great. If it doesn't, it was free, so nothing is really lost in the process.
Watering Can
The offcuts were assembled one late evening using an electric drill, bolt cutters and some Araldite adhesive. It’s a lot of hoarding for a space so small. Materials, processes, and ideas compressed down into a 6m2 bedroom. The projects clash with one another, but is seems fairly productive for ideas. Everything exists at a different stage of development, and the constraint of living alongside them in a single space means they constantly overlap and influence each other.
