Qingyun Wang is a designer and curator based in Shanghai and London. Her practice engages with themes of microhistory, ecology, and community. She employs design as a method to weave together illustration and archival research, working across multiple media to navigate layered historical memories. Through this approach, her work imagines an inclusive and critical perspective on past narratives. Her recent work includes curating exhibitions for the London Design Festival in 2024 and 2025, as well as contributing to the Ravensbury Mill research project with Habitat & Heritage.

This Coco Coir Cushion & Pouffe blends coconut wood and woven polypropylene with coir filling, highlighting the labor behind coconut processing. It juxtaposes exotic material with a metaphor of labour’s hard work to navigate a critical view of the hidden threads in the coconut processing industry, which should be brought to the table just as the well-served fruits.
