DESIGN EVERYTHING
A SEAT AT THE TABLE
                   LDF 2025
Following the success of Design Everything’s debut show in 2024 (Design Everything x Kindred) we are extremely proud to announce an open call for this year’s exhibition entitled ‘A Seat At The Table’.

The concept for the show was born out of a frustration with how hard it is for emerging creatives to share their work as part of the London Design Festival (LDF), and be part of conversations with key industry stakeholders.

In response, we are proposing a mobile exhibition made up of a collection of seats designed by some of the country's most exciting, emerging talent. The exhibition will be installed in the back of a Luton van - a vehicle synonymous with moving furniture around the capital - and will travel to venues in design districts such as the Shoreditch Design Triangle, Brompton Design District, and the Dalston to Stokey Design District, providing an exciting platform to showcase your work and practise.

We have chosen the archetype of a seat, not just because we believe it’s an accessible object to make, with a large amount of creative possibility, but because it also enables the show to communicate the wider power of design. The seat will be used to activate spaces around London by participating in community oriented events such as potlucks, demonstrations, workshops, talks, and round-circle debates. In each instance the seats will be taken from their plinths and used to facilitate these events; creating conversation, collaboration and community.

OPEN CALL A SEAT AT THE TABLE

Design Everything is a platform where emerging designers can come together to showcase their work in an environment that encourages creative freedom and community. It’s become increasingly important to us to build a space where designers feel supported in realising their vision, with the only limitations being physical dimensions and functionality. How these objects are made, what they are made from, and their aesthetics are all determined by the designers themselves. We aim to provide a space for open conversation; allowing designers to work ‘in context’ while giving them the exposure they deserve.

The name "Design Everything" reflects our belief that design isn’t confined to specific tools, spaces or disciplines. It’s about owning your limitations, rethinking your environment, and realising that you can create with whatever you have at hand. We want to inspire people to design everything around them, to follow their intuition, and to see the potential in everyday objects and spaces. Reimagining how we approach design with a strong sense of community, resourcefulness, and passion.
